Kara O'Connell
Kara O’Connell served as the Alliance’s Chief Operating Officer from 2018 to 2022. In this role, Kara was responsible for successfully running the Alliance’s day-to-day operations, allowing the President to focus on organizational transformation and public engagement. Kara’s primary focus areas included financial management, operations and facilities, stakeholder relations and fundraising, events, and communications.
Kara joined the Alliance in 2005 as the Director of Events and was responsible for developing and launching the Energy Efficiency Global Forum. Since then, she served in several capacities, including Senior Vice President of Public & Corporate Relations and Vice President of Events & Marketing.
Prior to joining the Alliance, Kara was the Director of Conferences for the Electric Drive Transportation Association. She received her bachelor’s degree in Visual and Written Arts and Society from Gettysburg College.
