EE Global Update Regarding the Coronavirus

The following is a note from Clay Nesler, Interim President, regarding EE Global Forum.

I am writing to you from Washington, D.C., where COVID-19 is spurring new restrictions daily on travel and mass gatherings. With EE Global still six weeks away, it is difficult to know what the state of affairs will be at that time. I realize that many of our friends across the globe are grappling with the same uncertainty. Fortunately, the format of EE Global allows us to be able to wait a bit longer than most organizers to decide whether to cancel or postpone.

In the meantime, we are making plans to enable a large number of EE Global attendees to participate remotely. Our venue this year, Convene, is a state-of-the-art facility that will allow us to live-stream all of our sessions. Attendees also will be able to ask live questions to session moderators from any location via the EE Global app. We are confident that these new additions to our forum will enable every participant, whether attending in-person or remotely, to enjoy the full EE Global experience – all while reducing our carbon footprint! Additionally, we plan to post all session videos and additional content on eeglobalforum.org for post-event viewing.

As a result, we encourage you to register for EE Global Forum currently scheduled for April 28-29 in Washington, D.C., and virtually across the world! We will be monitoring the situation in D.C. daily and will provide updates to registered attendees as information becomes available and/or our plans evolve. If you have any questions, please reach out to Susanna McElroy at smcelroy@ase.org.

Our priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of our attendees, while also maintaining the effectiveness of the EE Global Forum. Given the fast-changing nature of this situation, determining the best path forward is challenging, and we thank you in advance for your patience and flexibility!

Best,

Clay Nesler

Interim President
