Armstrong Service, Inc. Douglas V. Bloss is President of Armstrong Service, Inc. and Corporate Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Armstrong International, Inc. Mr. Bloss received his B.B.A. from Western Michigan University and began working in marketing for Armstrong International, a world leading steam energy management company, in 1980. Mr. Bloss has established extensive in-country distribution for Armstrong throughout East/Central Europe and the C.I.S. In 1993, he began penetration of the Peoples Republic of China market and helped establish a joint venture manufacturing subsidiary in Beijing with China's Ministry of Machinery Industry. Mr. Bloss has been a global advocate of industrial energy efficiency. In 1990, he directed the Global Energy Forum, a nationwide closed circuit television broadcast to industrial energy managers encouraging energy efficiency amidst temporarily rising energy prices. In 1994, Mr. Bloss accompanied fifty U.S. energy executives on a Presidential Mission to Pakistan led by the U.S. Secretary of Energy. In November 1993, he testified before a U.S. Senate Subcommittee on the role of government assistance in development of foreign energy efficiency markets. Armstrong Service provides multi-year energy outsourcing agreements to industrial and institutional energy users, resulting in significant energy cost and emissions reductions. Michael L. Brown, P.E., CEM, Senior Research Engineer,
Georgia Tech C.E.M. is a primary developer of ANSI/MSE 2000, the Management System for Energy standard and a senior research engineer with Georgia Tech's Energy and Environmental Management Center (EEMC). He has over 20 years of experience providing energy conservation, alternate fuel and energy efficiency assistance to industrial, commercial, and institutional facilities. A registered Professional Engineer and Certified Energy Manager, Mr. Brown has completed over 200 energy audits at industrial facilities and is a lead instructor for the MSE 2000 Certificate Program. He also has experience in optimizing processes to reduce waste and instructs numerous technical courses related to industrial energy systems. Mr. Brown has degrees from the Georgia Institute of Technology and Texas A&M University. Christopher Russell, CEM, Senior Program Manager,
Alliance to Save Energy Christopher Russell is the Senior Manager of Industrial Programs for the Alliance to Save Energy. He leads programs, communications, and research that articulate the corporate or "business" impacts of energy efficiency. Mr. Russell's program collaboration includes corporate, federal, and state liaison. While with the American Gas Association (1995-99), Mr. Russell performed market and policy analysis and was the staff executive to commercial and industrial marketing committees. He also performed market planning and analysis for Washington Gas (1992-95). Mr. Russell earned an MBA in 1996 and an M.A. in Urban Studies in 1988, both from the University of Maryland, and a B.A. in Economic Geography from McGill University of Montreal in 1985. Robert Schasel, Senior Group Manager, Frito Lay Rob Schasel leads the Energy & Utilities Department at Frito-Lay. In this capacity he has a broad mandate to achieve cost reductions through sourcing strategies, conservation and capital investment in energy efficient equipment. Sourcing strategies include innovative program development with local utilities, alternate fuel strategies and an active energy-hedging program. Capital investment plans include standby generation, micro-turbine applications, heat recovery and water recycle systems. Rob graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and served several years in the Navy's Nuclear Submarine Force. He lives in Plano, Texas with his lovely wife, Amy, and three wonderful children. |
