The Alliance in coordination with ENMAP and UP, have created a guidebook on energy audits for water districts in the Philippines to assist the energy and water efficiency management teams in MIWD and MCWD and to continue to spread the heightened level of awareness and interest in energy and water savings in all Filipino water utilities.

The Alliance’s in-country manager launched the guide at the Philwater 2005 conference where it received strong support from the Philippine Water Works Association, the Philippine Association of Water Districts, and representatives from approximately 500 water districts who attended the conference. The Alliance distributed the guidebook to all Filipino water utilities, including those owned by local government units and the service concessionaires under the supervision of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System regulatory office based on their interest and need levels.
