Public Relations and International Internship

The Alliance to Save Energy is hiring a full-time Public Relations and International Intern for May through August 2008 at its headquarters in Washington, D.C. The internship is paid and accompanied by a monthly WMATA transportation stipend. The intern will be involved both in support of corporate outreach and membership building as well as the Alliance's international energy efficiency programs.
Specific duties:
- We have spent 8 months re-developing the Alliance Associates tracking and records systems. The primary role of this intern is to bring that development work to completion.
- Work on he Beijing Center of Excellence project;
- Two potential new projects fro the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation - one on measuring results form industrial energy efficiency programs, and one organizing a workshop on transportation efficiency.
A qualified intern must possess:
- Organization;
- Good writing skills;
- Some data or records management experience;
- A "team-player" attitude;
- Pluses: Mandarin and/or Spanish language skills;
- Knowledge about China, transportation issues, building efficiency, industrial processes, and/or industrial energy efficiency.
- As the internship combines diverse skills and interests, applicants should be adaptable and quick learners.
The internship provides an opportunity to gain:
- Exposure to non-profit fund development and corporate engagement;
- Hands-on experience with support structures for these activities;
- Experience working with international energy efficiency issues and organizations.
