Andromeda Award - National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners

The National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) will receive this year's Andromeda award for its demonstrated commitment to energy efficiency through leadership on government policies and providing educational opportunities for state commissioners on efficiency-related issues.

Highlighting this leadership, NARUC maintains a leading role in the development of the National Action Plan for Energy Efficiency (NAPEE). This collaborative effort gathers leaders from state public utility commissions, utilities, and energy consumers to identify key barriers limiting greater U.S. investment in energy efficiency and to develop sound business practices for removing these obstacles.

The award also recognizes NARUC's strong commitment to energy efficiency through its committees, including the Consumer Affairs, Electricity, Energy Resources and the Environment, and Gas committees. The Association has passed several resolutions encouraging States and the country as a whole to consider implementing energy efficiency programs as part of any energy policy.
