GEED 2008 a success!

The 2008 Great Energy Efficiency Day (GEED), which took place on April 16, was by all accounts the most successful in Alliance history with record breaking attendance and an unparalleled speaker line-up!

Over 350 industry professionals and congressional staff gathered on Capitol Hill to hear keynote addresses from five members of Congress, and to learn about energy efficiency’s role in mitigating climate change and combating energy demand and growth in multiple sectors.

Notable speakers included Representatives Jane Harman (D-CA) and Zach Wamp (R-TN); Karen Harbert, EVP and Managing Director, U.S. Chamber Institute for 21st Century Energy; Scott Nyquist, Director, McKinsey & Company Houston; Arshad Mansoor, VP, Power Delivery & Utilization, Electric Power Research Institute; and, the Alliance’s own Jeff Harris, VP for Programs. An attractive wrap-up report is also available in PDF format.

This important event would not have been possible without the support of our sponsors: Duke Energy, Southern Company, Trane, AREVA, Center for Environmental Innovation in Roofing, Institute for Electric Efficiency, and the Nuclear Energy Institute. For more detailed information, we encourage you to download the speaker presentations and event pictures below.
