Public Policy Analyst

The American Gas Association (AGA), a national trade association that advocates the interests of its natural gas utility members, is in search of a Public Policy Analyst to assist AGA in developing public policy analysis and implementing advocacy plans at the federal, state and regional levels on energy efficiency and climate change. The person filling this position will serve an interdisciplinary role in support of the Association’s efforts to inform policymakers and other important stakeholders of the contributions of natural gas and energy efficiency in meeting important public policy goals, including addressing climate change and energy security concerns, with consideration given to economic, environmental, consumer and operational impacts. S/he will develop into a subject matter expert on natural gas energy efficiency matters, including program design, regulatory treatment, legislative provisions, and business drivers.

Candidates must possess intellectual curiosity and an aptitude for working as part of a team. Research and effective written communications skills are required. Candidates should be able to establish effective working relationships with government and regulatory policy making staff, member company representatives, and the larger community of those interested in effective energy policies. MBA/MS/MA with focus and/or interest in business and public policy desired.
