Signed into law by President Barack Obama on February 17, 2009, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) is the single greatest federal investment in the American economy in United States’ history. The stimulus includes more than $25 billion dollars for “core” energy efficiency and billions more which can be directly or indirectly applied to energy efficiency projects.
This resources page serves as a clearinghouse of information about the energy efficiency funding in 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. We will continue to update this page regularly as new information on implementation and oversight becomes available.

Energy Efficiency in the Stimulus Package Webinar – March 16, 2009 – Alliance Director of Government Relations Brad Penney moderated this webinar, which included discussions from Gil Sperling, the DOE program manager for the State Energy, Weatherization Assistance and Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Programs; and Jeff Genzer, the executive director of the National Association of State Energy Officials (NASEO). Both Sperling and Genzer are central to the implementation of stimulus funds allotted to energy efficiency through state energy programs.back to top
