State Energy Plans: Maine

The American Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009 (ARRA) appropriated $3.1 billion for the Department of Energy’s State Energy Program (SEP), which provides funding to state energy offices (SEOs) for energy efficiency and renewable energy programs. The following page summarizes Maine's planned use of the funding.
Total Stimulus Funding in Maine: $27,300,000
- Incentives for home owners (10 million)
- Incentives for industry, businesses, and organizations (13 million)
- Workforce development support, including training and outreach for green collar jobs and renewable energies (3.8 million)
- Assistance for communities training building and energy codes enforcement officers. (500K)
