Sep. 24, 2009 – Alliance president Kateri Callahan presented Mexico’s president Felipe Calderón with the Alliance’s International Star of Energy Efficiency at a special ceremony in New York City. President Calderón pledged that both CONAVI and INFONAVIT, the agencies who received the award at the Alliance’s annual dinner just days before, will continue his support of energy efficiency in Mexico's low-income housing industry.
This special event was also attended by Mrs. Calderon, Víctor Manuel Borrás Setién, Director General, INFONAVIT,
Ariel Cano Cuevas, Director General, CONAVI, Arturo Sarukhán Casamitjana, Mexico’s Ambassador to the United States, and other diplomats from the Embassy and the Consulate. Also present were representatives from Alliance Associate businesses, including Kent Anson of Honeywell, Tom Catania of Whirlpool, and Peter Smith of Pataki Cahill.
