The Corridor Transportation Corporation (CTC) began in May 1987 as a fledging demonstration transit project birthed through a private-public partnership. Today, CTC is celebrating its twenty-third year of existence. CTC began transit service in 1989 as a system of 9 buses on 5 routes and carrying 178,000 passengers in its first year of operation. Today, the CTC services carry 2 million passengers on a system that stretches from Burtonsville to Glen Burnie and Ellicott City to College Park in Maryland on 21 fixed routes utilizing a fleet of 59 vehicles.
