Consumer Tips from Selected States

The Alliance to Save Energy works with a number of Alliance Associates that provide energy-efficiency tips and services for consumers in selected states. One of the best resources for general information about energy efficiency is EnergyStar.gov.

California

  • Sacramento Municipal Utility District: provides consumers with information on rebates, financing and promotions as well as tips to save energy.
  • Southern California Edison has posted an online home energy survey with tips to lower your energy bills.
  • LA Department of Water and Power hosts a tool for homeowners to conduct a home energy audit
    and details how to incorporate energy and water efficiency into many aspects of life.

Idaho, Washington State
Oregon, Western Montana

  • Bonneville Power Administration provides electricity energy–efficiency information.

Massachusetts

  • NStar Electric and Gas Corporation provides its consumers with energy-efficiency tools and resources.

New England

  • Gas Networks – Bay State Gas, Berkshire Gas, Keyspan Energy Delivery, New England Gas Company, NSTAR, Unitil, and Northern Utilities Natural Gas offer these Natural gas tips.

New York

  • New York State Energy Research and Development Authority and the New York Public Service Commission provide extensive information for consumers on all aspects of energy efficiency. Free booklet for New Yorkers: It's Right. . . and Right at Home. Call 877.NY-SMART (877.697.6278) or email.
  • ConEd Solutions hosts seasonal tips for consumers

Tennessee

  • Tennessee Valley Authority gathered a number of resources to help consumers save money and energy

  • Texas State Energy Conservation Office compiled a list of links to a wealth of energy information.
  • Austin Energy provides rebates and low-interest loans for energy efficiency projects as well as a guide to residential savings
