For Immediate Release

Washington, D.C., January 2009 – World-class business, technology, government, and policy leaders will convene at the Alliance to Save Energy’s EE Global 2009 Energy Efficiency Forum and Exposition, the only such international event focusing exclusively on energy efficiency. Attendees can register for the April 27-29 conference at the Palais Des Congres in Paris, France, at http://eeglobalforum.org/registration.html.

More than 70 speakers from 19 countries are already lined up for three plenary sessions and 24 concurrent “Executive Dialogue” sessions. Expert speakers range from government energy and climate ministers and members of the European Parliament to executives from leading corporations, utilities and NGOs.

“The hallmark of the EE Global series is our focus on building strategic alliances among worldwide governments, businesses, and the public interest sector in order to strengthen and promote the global dialogue on energy efficiency,” noted Alliance to Save Energy President Kateri Callahan. “Government officials, energy professionals, researchers, and academics will enjoy an unprecedented opportunity to forge partnerships and to share and develop best practices, policies, and strategies for global implementation.

“While there are many conferences and symposia organized around the issue of energy,” Callahan continued, “EE Global, offers unparalleled networking opportunities for a wide range of energy professionals to discuss the needs and issues that global energy leaders face in the next decade and beyond.”

The program features 24 90-minute Executive Dialogue sessions, each within one of four end-use “tracks” (buildings, industry and utilities, transportation and urban planning, consumer). Each will offer presentations from four leading voices on energy efficiency and will focus on one of four key cross-cutting issues – finance, policy, technology, or market transformation. To maximize the learning experience, attendees can customize the agenda to best suit their own needs and interests.

To date, confirmed plenary session speakers include:

  • Bracken Darrell, president, Whirlpool Europe; EVP, Whirlpool Corporation
  • Lena Ek, member of European Parliament (Sweden)
  • Dr. Johannes Milde, CEO, Siemens Building Technologies
  • Björn Stigson, president, World Council for Sustainable Development
  • Nobuo Tanaka, executive director of the International Energy Agency
  • Jean-Pascal Tricoire, president and CEO, Schneider Electric
  • Claude Turmes, member of European Parliament (Luxembourg)
