Friday, December 11 – Today, Kateri Callahan participated as a featured panelist at "Tapping U.S. Technical Capabilities to Enhance Climate Programs," a USAID-sponsored event held inside the UNFCCC conference site, the Bella Center.
Contributing to the discussion on the various approaches with which the U.S. can play a substantial role in clean and efficient energy projects in the least developed countries, Kateri highlighted the Alliance to Save Energy's international projects – particularly our Watergy program currently implemented in South Africa – and underscored the great opportunity and increased need for resource-saving efficiency projects in emerging economies.
The event's other panelists included Bill Breed of U.S. Agency for International Development; General Manager of the Gasification group of General Electric Monte Atwell; and Senior Policy Advisor for Policy & International Affairs at the U.S. Department of Energy Dr. Holmes Hummel.
