This week, the Clean and Efficient Energy Program (CEEP) launched an interactive web resource where energy efficiency program managers from public power utilities can share experiences, best practices and educational resources.
www.cleanefficientenergy.org allows stakeholders to learn about and discuss aspects of energy efficiency program design, implementation and evaluation, while connecting with peers and energy efficiency experts. One key feature is a comprehensive resource library of guidance documents, datasets and case studies gathered from utility and energy efficiency industry leaders.
A unique website aspect is the ratings and comments feature, through which users can engage in defining best practice strategies. Users are also encouraged to recommend resources and directly contribute content to the library, so others can benefit from the wealth of information, tools and resources that already exist, but that have not to date been centralized.
Through CEEP’s discussion forums, users can seek or offer advice either by joining an ongoing conversation or starting a new discussion thread. Over time, www.cleanefficientenergy.org will become a product of its users as it captures more and more information based on their real world experiences.
By interacting with the site and sharing their successes, users also contribute to another of CEEP’s goals, which is to broadly demonstrate public power’s involvement and accomplishments in energy efficiency.
CEEP is a partnership of the Alliance, the American Public Power Association (APPA), and the Large Public Power Council (LPPC), which joined forces in 2009 to promote and support the energy efficiency efforts of locally-owned utilities.
