For many of us, talk of climate change stirs up fear, anxiety, despair and other debilitating emotions that leave us unable to see a solution to what is a crisis of global proportions.
A new film directed by Peter Byck and produced by Craig Sieben and others challenges this reaction by celebrating climate change solutions, inspiration and action. "Carbon Nation" profiles a number of Americans who have tapped into clean energy resources to improve their fortune and the world around them. Being shown at private screenings and film festivals around the country, the film will reach its largest audience yet when it airs in Chicago's Millennium Park on Aug. 10, 2010.
In this Industry Leader Interview we talk with producer Craig Sieben about the film's uniquely positive perspective on a serious global issue. A recognized energy authority on energy efficiency and a pioneer in the rapidly-growing field of professional energy management, Craig is founder and CEO of Sieben Energy Associates. He got his start in the energy efficiency field on Capitol Hill in the 1980s, during which time he also worked with the Alliance.
