Verification Inspector

This team leverages those relationships to deliver the energy savings or peak power solutions our clients most desire.
 
As our utility clients gear up their energy efficiency and distributed generation programs, the opportunities are plentiful for making a big impact while we continue to grow Ecova. The Utility Solutions team has an immediate need for three Field Inspectors, herein referred to as our internal title, Verification Inspector, based out of a home office in the New England area. In this role, you will report to the Field Manager and experience all the benefits of working for a fast-paced, entrepreneurial company while having a significant impact in energy efficiency, climate and sustainability.
 
 
Role Description
Responsible for providing verification audits of energy saving measures installed under the New England Energy Efficiency Rebate Program (NEEERP).
 
  • Perform verification inspections of heating and cooling systems and other building related efficiency measures. Adhere to Standard Operation Procedures, process methodology and safety procedures for conduct, equipment use, inspection techniques and reporting protocol.
  • Interface with customers with a high level of attentiveness to customer needs. 
  • Participate in meetings with other inspectors, field staff, call center and rebate staff to resolve issues and help guide program implementation and improvements based on field experience and customer feedback.
  • Understand and provide information on client programs and services to customers.
  • Ensure data quality.
  • Interface with the public and handle customer issues, complaints and questions.
  • Accurately collect information pertinent to the facility and the audit, document and report within time requirements.
  • Responds to a wide variety of customer inquiries by telephone and in person. Analyzes program data and savings information.
  • Establishes and maintains on-going relationships with contractors and vendors.
  • Support program and field team as required

 Role Competencies
  • Familiarity with residential and commercial/industrial HVAC equipment and installations
  • Familiar with other building efficiency measures
  • Knowledge of quality control.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to customers.
  • Ability to assess customer needs and direct information appropriately.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of heat transfer, lighting technology, appliances, and electrical equipment, HVAC system types and operating efficiencies. 
  • Knowledge of terminology, components, materials, and procedures specific to the residential, commercial and industrial energy efficiency industry. 
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply basic mathematics and accounting methods.
  • Ability to assist in planning and implementing energy management programs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with skill in marketing energy management programs.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, regional, and utility energy management programs.
  • Ability to establish, facilitate, and maintain effective working relationships with customers, contractors, vendors, employees, and other agency representatives. 
  • Ability to use computer for spreadsheets, databases, and work process applications.
  • Ability to determine compliance with technical specifications for program.
  • Ability to manage comprehensive and detailed record keeping systems.
  • Associate's degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in energy field.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams is preferred.
  • Contractor or facilities experience beneficial.
