Hon. David McKinley (R-WV), Utility, ESCO and Global Product Manufacturing Executives Join Alliance to Save Energy's Board

The Alliance to Save Energy’s (Alliance) Board of Directors unanimously confirmed Congressman David B. McKinley (R-WV) to serve as an Honorary Vice-Chair effective today. Joining the Congressman as newly elected Board Directors are industry executives representing the utilities, energy services, and global product manufacturing sectors, including:

  • Mark Lantrip, president and CEO of Southern Company Services;
  • Kevin Payne, senior vice president of customer service for Southern California Edison (SCE);
  • Aurelie Richard, senior vice president of strategy and business development for Schneider Electric North America Operations; and,
  • Dr. Gayle Schueller, vice president of global sustainability for 3M Company.

Alliance President Kateri Callahan is enthusiastic about McKinley’s selection as an Honorary Vice-Chair, noting, “Representative McKinley has supported efficiency throughout his tenure as a Representative of West Virginia’s 1st congressional district, evidenced by his introduction of numerous bipartisan efficiency bills, including The Better Buildings Act and HOMES Act,” Callahan said. “His engineering background provides him with a practical understanding of the technical benefit of efficiency programs and legislation.”

“Energy efficiency makes sense for so many reasons. It creates jobs and benefits our economy while reducing emissions. I look forward to having the opportunity to work alongside the other members of the Alliance Board,” Representative McKinley added.

As President and CEO of Southern Company Services, Mark Lantrip supports the Southern Company system’s award-winning energy efficiency programs. When discussing his new position on the Board, Mr. Lantrip said, “The Alliance Board of Directors is unique in that it brings together so many different sectors and represents such a wide range of perspectives. I look forward to working with fellow Board Directors to advance the Alliance’s mission across all avenues.”

Kevin Payne brings an extensive level of experience and expertise to the Board. He has held many leadership positions throughout SCE, with a broad range of responsibilities including grid engineering and planning, smart grid and advanced technology, energy efficiency, and customer service. SCE’s experience in energy efficiency spans more than 25 years, earning awards and recognition on the national level for decades. “I am honored to continue the strong relationship SCE has with the Alliance by joining the Board,” Mr. Payne said.

Schneider Electric’s Aurelie Richard brings extensive experience in buildings and finance to the Board. At Schneider, she managed commercial and manufacturing finance and was VP and CFO of the company’s Buildings Business before taking on her current position. “I am eager to join the diverse set of Alliance Board members and look forward to supporting the goals of the Alliance and Schneider Electric in seeking a more energy efficient future,” Ms. Richard said.

Dr. Gayle Schueller has said of her new position, “Transforming the way we use energy and helping our customers meet their energy usage goals are key priorities for 3M. Working with fellow Alliance Board members will provide an opportunity to foster innovative energy conservation strategies.” Among her many responsibilities, Dr. Schueller leads 3M’s integrated strategy to deliver customer solutions help meet sustainability challenges and to ensure that the company operates in a way that advances environmental stewardship and social responsibility, while ensuring economic success for all of the 3M’s stakeholders.
