Corporate Partnership Opportunities

Your Company Can Help Improve America’s Energy Future and Protect the Environment through Support of the Alliance to Save Energy

The Alliance to Save Energy's corporate partners share a strong commitment to helping shape a global energy future that relies on the most efficient use of energy resources. Over 80 of the world's leading manufacturers, utilities, research organizations, retailers and non-profit organizations believe that energy efficiency is the cheapest, quickest, and cleanest way to extend our nation's energy supplies and lend their support to a broad range of Alliance programs and activities. The Alliance to Save Energy is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and thus support for all Alliance activities is tax deductible to the extent allowable by law. For a copy of our letters of incorporation or IRS charitable certification, please send an email with your request to cwilson@ase.org.

Unrestricted Giving Opportunities

The Alliance welcomes grants for general operating support that enable our organization to carry out its important energy efficiency mission and pursue new programmatic and policy opportunities. Unrestricted grants allow the Alliance to use your donation where it can be most effectively used to save energy! To speak to an Alliance representative about how you can make a donation to the Alliance mission, please contact Chuck Wilson, Director Corporate and Foundation Relations, 202-530-2228 or cwilson@ase.org.

Program and Policy Support

Grants for specific programs provide companies with an excellent means for demonstrating support for a particular area or activity. We are currently seeking partners to support Alliance efforts in the following areas in 2004-2005:

  • Public Policy Outreach and Education
  • Green School Programs in New York, Illinois, North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, the District of Columbia, and Maryland
  • Building Code Development, Compliance, and Enforcement Activities
  • Website Content and Support
  • Research and Development
  • Transportation Policy and Technology Programs
  • International Sustainable Development Programs
  • Industrial Energy Efficiency Training and Educational Seminars
  • Publications and Information Materials
  • 2004 Earth Apple Awards

Don't see what you are looking for on the above list? Please contact Chuck Wilson Director - Corporate and Foundation Relations (202-530-2228), to discuss the development of a program that could be sponsored by your company.

Cause Related Marketing and Corporate Tie-ins

The Alliance welcomes the opportunity to partner with your firm to promote your interest in energy efficiency. Past partnerships have included ABB's sponsorship of the Alliance to Save Energy's international Earth Apple Award, Austin Energy and Aspen Systems Corporation's support for the June 2004 Great Energy Efficiency Debate, and 3M Company and the Tennessee Valley Authority's sponsorship of the Green Schools program, to name just a few. The Alliance also invites companies to discuss their sponsorship needs or ideas for tie-ins with our development team to explore ways that we can promote energy efficiency to both organizations' benefit.

In addition, the Alliance welcomes non-cash contributions such as printing services and supplies, computer equipment, copiers, meeting space, “air time” on radio or television for the airing of public service announcements, audit and diagnostic equipment, and professional services provided on a pro-bono basis.

Workplace Giving and Employer Matching Gifts

One of the easiest ways to demonstrate your support for energy efficiency and the Alliance to Save Energy is through your workplace giving campaign. Host a fund raising event or workplace charity campaign with the help of Conservation and Preservation Charities, a nationwide network of non-profit environmental and preservation organizations that the Alliance has affiliated with. To learn more about Conservation and Preservation Charities workplace giving program contact www.conservenow.org.

Matching gifts are also an excellent way to turn your employees' contributions into a larger, more meaningful gift. Please consider adding the Alliance to the list of organizations that qualify for a matching gift from your company and take the time to inform your employees of this wonderful benefit that you provide to leverage their contribution. The Alliance is happy to provide brochures, donor cards, or other informational materials to help you reach out to your employees for this purpose.
