Brian Sernulka

Brian Sernulka serves as the program manager of the Building Codes Assistance Project (BCAP), a joint initiative of the Alliance to Save Energy, the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy and the Natural Resources Defense Council. Brian works with state and local governments throughout the southern U.S. on the adoption and implementation of energy codes. This has included his work on the Alabama Energy Code Advocacy and Outreach project funded through the Alabama Department of Community and Economic Affairs and working with the Georgia 2010 IECC Taskforce.

Brian has worked exclusively in the South for more than seven years. Before his work with BCAP, Brian worked as an advisor to governors, legislators, and businesses across the South on energy policy. He has worked on the Pike County Energy Strategy, Georgia Energy Strategy, the American Energy Security Study and countless legislation across the South.

Brian has also served and advised on many political campaigns, studied at the University of Havana and earned a master’s of arts degree in political science and world history from Georgia State University.
