Ellie Kim

Ellie Kim joined the Alliance in June 2009 and is a LEED Accredited Professional.  As a campus lead for intern teams at the University of California, Santa Barbara, the University of California, Los Angeles, and three community colleges within the Los Angeles Community College District, she manages and trains a total of approximately 20 interns to conduct energy efficiency projects on those campuses. 

She is also primarily responsible for the development of a Green Campus community college model to mentor student interns to provide their campuses with measurable energy/water savings, green career pathways, and increase awareness of the connection between energy and the environment.  She has primary responsibility for the administrative duties for the Green Campus community college model including development and budget management. 

After graduating from the University of California, San Diego with a bachelor’s of science in Environmental Systems, she obtained her Master’s in Environmental Management from the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University in 2009.  Her previous work experience includes completing greenhouse gas inventories for the City/County of Durham, analyzing the sustainability of energy resources at electric utilities, and assisting higher education sustainability efforts.
