Francesca Wahl, Policy Associate, joined the Alliance to Save Energy in January 2011 as the Policy and Research Team intern and took on a full-time staff position in July 2011. She is responsible for developing articles and factsheets on federal energy efficiency policies and supporting the team’s legislative analysis and outreach efforts. Additionally, Francesca follows, analyzes, and reports on various issues areas for the team including appliance standards and state policies.

Prior to joining the Alliance, Francesca assessed and tracked state recycling regulation and legislation at a Washington, DC based trade association. She also has experience assisting governments and small businesses with implementing the principles of sustainability in their management plans and serving in the White House Liaison Office at the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Francesca attended the University of Virginia where she graduated with distinction and a double major in Economics and Foreign Affairs as well as a minor in Spanish. At UVA, Francesca was also selected to participate in the Politics Distinguished Majors Program enabling her to write a senior thesis.
