Cliff Majersik is the executive director of the Institute for Market Transformation (IMT), a national nonprofit organization that is laser-focused on increasing energy efficiency in buildings to save money, drive economic growth, reduce harmful pollution, and tackle climate change. Under his guidance, IMT is a trailblazer in the energy efficiency field, recognized across the globe for accelerating investment in energy-efficient buildings through hands-on guidance, technical and market research, policy and program development, and promotion of best practices.
Cliff is a pioneer of energy efficiency concepts in appraisal, codes, and building performance policy that have gained national prominence. His advice is often sought on developing legislation, including instrumental work on Washington, D.C.’s Green Building Act of 2006 and Clean and Affordable Energy Act of 2008 as well as key guidance on the bipartisan, federal Energy Efficiency Improvement Act and California Assembly Bill 802, both of which were signed into law in 2015.
A respected industry leader, Cliff is the primary spokesperson for IMT’s mission and priorities and frequently speaks to real estate, government, and energy service providers, often serving as a keynote speaker and industry judge. He is an active member of the District of Columbia Green Building Advisory Council, serves on the Board of Directors of the Emerald Cities Collective, and is a judge of the Nareit Leader in the Light and BOLD Awards.
Cliff draws on previous experience as a management consultant, including an understanding of the complexity of change management and what influences company decision-making processes, to better promote adoption of energy efficiency best practices.
