Irvine Sloan is a seasoned leader in energy efficiency and sustainability research, currently serving as the Director of Energy Efficiency Research at the Alliance to Save Energy. With over twenty years of experience, Irvine is committed to advancing innovative, data-driven strategies that promote energy conservation and environmental stewardship.
 
Throughout his career, Irvine has held leadership roles at major corporations such as Danaher, ABB, and Duke Energy, where he developed a reputation for building high-performing teams and driving solutions to complex, cross-functional challenges. His experience across these industries has provided him with a nuanced perspective on sustainability’s impact on both operational success and community well-being.
 
Irvine’s dedication to corporate social responsibility extends beyond his professional role. He is a strong advocate for volunteerism and serves on non-profit boards dedicated to technology, community empowerment, and education. His approach to leadership is grounded in his personal commitment to sustainability, ensuring that every initiative aligns with a mission of positive social impact.
 
Educationally, Irvine has a multidisciplinary foundation, having completed the Advanced Finance Program at the Wharton School of Business. He holds Master's degrees in Law from Northwestern University, Business Administration from Indiana University, Agricultural Economics from Purdue University, and Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Additionally, he earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech.
 
As an active board member of the American Association of Blacks in Energy, Irvine contributes his expertise to foster a more inclusive and innovative energy sector. His vision and leadership in the field of energy efficiency are instrumental in the Alliance’s mission to create sustainable change and reduce environmental impact nationwide.
