EE Global Returns to Europe in 2018 in Conjunction with Clean Energy Ministerial
The Alliance is thrilled to be taking the Energy Efficiency Global Forum (EE Global) abroad once again – we’re heading to Copenhagen May 21-22! We’ll be holding the forum together with our co-organizer, the Copenhagen Centre on Energy Efficiency, and with the support of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Over the last decade, EE Global has established itself as the energy efficiency gathering place – drawing together business executives, government leaders and advocates from across sectors and continents for actionable dialogues on advancing energy efficiency. The Forum has spurred public-private partnerships, generated investment in efficiency and delivered a lasting global impact.
This year we’re going to Copenhagen during a busy week, which is precisely the point. EE Global will kick off Nordic Clean Energy Week, and it will be immediately followed by the Clean Energy Ministerial, an annual gathering of energy ministers and other high-level delegates. Since transitioning to a low carbon economy is impossible without aggressive and robust energy efficiency policies and technologies, EE Global will serve as an ideal kickoff to the week, inspiring continued conversations and ensuring that energy efficiency gets its well-deserved spotlight on this international stage.
We’re also excited to showcase Copenhagen’s leadership on efficiency. The city aspires to be the first carbon neutral capital city by 2025 – a goal only made possible through aggressive and robust energy efficient policies and technology. Copenhagen will serve as the perfect backdrop to EE Global, providing a source of inspiration and “hygge” – a Danish term describing a special feeling or moment. The Forum will convene on Monday, May 21 at UN City – a Platinum LEED certified building and the winner of the European Commission’s Green Building Award (as well as the 2016 EE Visionary Award). On Tuesday, May 22, delegates will head to the center of town to participate in the Day 2 agenda at historic Odd Fellow Palae.
