2025 Support ENERGY STAR: Sign-On Letter to EPA

Ensuring the Future of the ENERGY STAR® Program

The ENERGY STAR® program has been a cornerstone of U.S. energy efficiency efforts for over 30 years, delivering unparalleled economic and environmental benefits. We invite businesses, including manufacturers, homebuilders, building owners, non-profits, local governments, schools, and other organizations and industry leaders to sign a letter urging the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to maintain full funding and staffing for this critical program. (No individual sign-ons).

Join Us: Sign the Letter

By signing this letter, YOUR COMPANY OR ORGANIZATION IS urging the EPA and congressional leaders to continue supporting ENERGY STAR, ensuring its long-term success and impact. Your voice is essential in demonstrating broad industry support for this program.

With rising energy costs and growing electricity demands from AI and data centers, maintaining ENERGY STAR’s effectiveness is more critical than ever. The administration has committed to reducing Americans' energy bills by 50%, and ENERGY STAR provides a proven market-driven solution to achieve this goal. Without sustained funding, businesses and consumers will lose a vital tool that drives efficiency, affordability, and economic growth.

Why ENERGY STAR Matters

ENERGY STAR is one of the most successful public-private partnerships in U.S. history. With a budget of approximately $50 million—less than 1% of EPA's spending—it saves American households over $40 billion annually on energy bills. The program is instrumental in supporting American jobs, strengthening energy independence, and ensuring affordability and reliability for consumers.

  • Economic Impact: Supports more than 750,000 jobs in manufacturing, retail, real estate, and energy services.
  • Consumer Savings: Helps households save about $450 per year on energy bills.
  • Grid Reliability & Resilience: Reduces strain on the electricity grid, lowering blackout risks and improving efficiency.
  • Market Leader: With 90% brand awareness, ENERGY STAR influences purchasing decisions for 300 million products annually, amounting to $100 billion in market value.
