Washington, D.C. –  Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Chair of the Alliance to Save Energy Honorary Board of Advisors will present the Chairman’s Award to the Honorable Willie. L. Phillips, Acting Chair of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Chairman Phillips has more than 20 years of experience in the energy industry, including as Charman of the DC Public Service Commission and as the General Counsel for the North American Electric Reliability Corporation.

Thomas Kuhn, CEO, Edison Electric Institute (EEI) will receive the Charles H. Percy Award for lifetime achievement. His award will be presented by Clinton Vince, Chairman of Denton’s U.S. Energy Practice; Co-Chair of the firm’s Global Energy Sector; and Chairman of the Alliance to Save Energy. Tom has more than three decades of leadership at EEI, where he oversees the interests of member companies providing electricity to more than 235 million Americans across all 50 states and the District of Columbia, supporting a vast workforce of over 7 million jobs nationwide.

The Rising Star Award will be presented to Phil Croskey, CEO and Co-Founder of Maryland Energy Advisors. Phil brings over two decades of executive experience to lead the strategic direction and growth of the energy solutions company that he co-founded. He also co-founded PointClickSwitch, an online platform focused on helping residential customers save on utility costs in deregulated energy markets. Phil is also committed to community service, serving on various boards such as the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) Baltimore Chapter, Clean Air Partners, and Urban Teachers. Phil’s award will be presented by Alliance President, Paula Glover.

Since 1993, the Alliance to Save Energy has hosted the Stars of Energy Efficiency Awards to honor organizations and individuals that have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to advancing energy efficiency. These prestigious awards recognize those industry leaders who have made exceptional contributions to their respective fields, serving as role models for other organizations and inspiring industry-wide change.

Awardees will be honored at the 31st Annual Evening with the Stars of Energy Efficiency Awards Gala (better known as the Energy Prom) at the International Spy Museum in Washington, DC on Tuesday, September 19th from 6-10 p.m.

Founded in 1977 by two U.S. senators who recognized the enormous opportunity of energy efficiency, the Alliance to Save Energy is a bipartisan, nonprofit coalition of business, government, environmental, and consumer leaders advocating to advance federal energy efficiency policy.
