WASHINGTON—The Alliance to Save Energy released the following statement from President Paula Glover in response to EPA’s recent announcement on the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund.

“The Alliance to Save Energy commends the EPA for launching the final $20 billion in grant competitions related to the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund, which prioritizes energy efficiency as an essential part of climate mitigation and greenhouse gas reduction strategies,” said Paula Glover, president of the Alliance. “The full $27 billion Fund includes $14 billion for the National Clean Investment Fund; $6 billion for the Clean Communities Investment Accelerator; and $7 billion for the Solar for All program.”

“We additionally commend EPA for designating energy efficiency as an enabling upgrade in the Solar for All program, which was announced in late June,” Glover said. “As an enabling upgrade, energy efficiency is identified as necessary to deploy and maximize the benefits of residential rooftop and community solar.” “By prioritizing efficiency within the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund, we are ensuring that the energy transition is equitable and done in a way that decreases energy burden.”
