WASHINGTON, DC – The Alliance to Save Energy named Rick Thigpen, Senior Vice President of Corporate Citizenship at Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG), as Chair, Craig Smith, Chief Customer Officer at Seattle City Light, as Vice Chair, and Phil Croskey, CEO and Co-Founder of MD Energy Advisors, as Treasurer, at a board meeting Oct. 31.

“Throughout their careers, these leaders have promoted energy efficiency as a direct link to greater energy resilience, reliability, and economic opportunity for all,” said Alliance President Paula Glover. “Their vision is in complete alignment with our mission and goals.”

Thigpen was named SVP of Corporate Citizenship at PSEG in July 2018 and is also chairman of the PSEG Foundation. He drives public policy through advocacy, including government affairs, sustainability, charitable activities, and corporate social responsibility.

“Every kilowatt saved is one that minimizes grid stress and prevents disruptions,” Thigpen said. “I am committed to helping the Alliance pave the way to a sustainable future while also building energy resilience.”

Smith joined City Light in 2014. He has more than 40 years of experience in the electric utility industry, including three years as CEO of Richard Heath and Associates and six years as Assistant General Manager of the Snohomish County Public Utility District.

“When it comes to future proofing our grid for maximum reliability – especially in the age of increasingly extreme weather events – energy efficiency just makes sense,” said Smith. “I am eager to champion solutions that deliver consistent power.”

Croskey has over 20 years of executive and managerial experience in the areas of energy, business development, finance, and economic development. At MD Energy Advisors, he leads strategic direction and revenue growth.

“Energy efficiency is the largest employer in the clean energy economy,” Croskey said. “I am honored to help the Alliance accelerate advocacy for programs that create opportunities for all.”
