American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy

The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to advancing energy efficiency as a means of promoting economic prosperity, energy security and environmental protection. ACEEE fulfills its mission by:

  • Conducting in-depth technical and policy assessments
  • Advising policymakers and program managers
  • Working collaboratively with businesses, public interest groups and other organizations
  • Organizing conferences and workshops
  • Publishing books, conference proceedings and reports
  • Educating consumers and businesses

Projects are carried out by ACEEE staff and selected energy efficiency experts from universities, national laboratories and the private sector. ACEEE’s program areas include: Energy Policy, Economic and Social Analysis, Buildings and Equipment, Utilities, Industry and Agriculture, Transportation, Behavior and the Human Dimensions of Energy Use and International.
