Project Description:
The Dallas Fort Worth International Airport is no ordinary airport. DFW serves more than 73 million passengers a year and covers more than 26.9 square miles, making it bigger than Manhattan. It was the first carbon-neutral airport in North America and the largest in the world. An enterprise of this scale and impact is highly matrixed, always on, and interrelated.
Willow reveals hidden interdependencies, manages the complexities, harnesses the power of data, and positions DFW to thrive. Willow is helping DFW make sense of data collected from countless systems, equipment, sensors embedded throughout the airport by integrating DFW’s existing data ecosystems. Within the platform, we can get a holistic, real-time, historical, and predictive view of conditions across multiple physical assets creating a single source of truth to enable previously unseen insights.
Sustainability
Willow enables automated data gathering and recording of sustainability related data, streamline sustainability reporting, and subsequently reduce the environmental impact of buildings, spaces and equipment for any corporations who own and/or manage facilities. Sustainability for buildings is crucial due to its significant impact on the environment, climate change mitigation, resource conservation, cost savings, and the health and well- being of occupants. Sustainable buildings promote energy efficiency, use renewable resources, and adhere to eco-friendly construction (when applicable) and facility management practices. They also contribute to social responsibility and demonstrate resilience.
Energy and Operational Efficiency
Willow enables the collection, validation, transformation, normalization, and fusion of rich and complex data from a wide variety of sources into a consistent model to generate advanced insights with impact assessments and drive intelligent action, remediation, and automation.
This helps customers like DFW understand, respond to, and anticipate complex facility conditions – in real-time and over time. Willow gives DFW the oversight, insight and foresight needed to operate their facilities more securely, sustainably, and efficiently.
- Oversight over all the systems and activities within a building, and how they relate to one another; across all the buildings within an airport like terminals, warehouses, distribution centers, parking garages, central utility plant, and more; across infrastructure that is directly interconnected with the buildings, like runways, jet bridges, EV charging terminals for mobile ground support equipment, airport shuttle buses, rental car fleets, ground power units for airplanes, etc.
- Insight into the most pressing pain points; into often non-trivial cause and effect relationships that transcend multiple operational systems; into impact on costs, energy consumption, carbon, comfort, compliance, building health and wellness.
- Foresight to predict failures and problems before they occur so they can be prevented altogether; into changing conditions that may affect operations, like weather events, power outages, or simply energy price fluctuations and how to take optimal advantage.
