Join the Virginia Sierra Club and GW Interfaith Power and Light for a comprehensive conversation about the Clean Power Plan. Please join for a networking mixer after the workshop.
In 2015, we celebrated the announcement of the Clean Power Plan, a historic step in reducing carbon pollution from power plants nationwide. This federal action to address climate change was shaped by years of unprecedented outreach and public advocacy. The final Clean Power Plan is, as the EPA states, “fair, flexible and designed to strengthen the fast-growing trend toward cleaner and lower-polluting American energy.” Under the Clean Power Plan framework, each state will have the opportunity to craft its own plan to reduce carbon pollution.
The Clean Power Plan Workshop will focus on how Governor Terry McAuliffe will chose to use that flexibility. As caring Virginians, we need to be able to communicate to our leaders what will make our state’s Clean Power Plan strong. Come together with a diverse growing movement of advocates to build a strong, clear voice for climate action. If you want to be able to be a strong advocate for the Clean Power Plan, join for this workshop.
