Washington, D.C. – The Alliance to Save Energy is proud to announce the winners of the 31st annual Stars of Energy Efficiency. Since 1993, the Alliance to Save Energy has hosted the Stars of Energy Efficiency Awards to honor organizations and individuals that have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to advancing energy efficiency. These prestigious awards recognize those industry leaders who have made exceptional strides in implementing innovative strategies, emerging technologies, and transformational practices or services to achieve significant energy savings. The recipients of the Stars of Energy Efficiency Awards are pioneers in their respective fields, serving as role models for other organizations and inspiring industry-wide change.

This year’s winners are Southern California Edison, receiving the Transportation Award; Philadelphia Energy Authority, being honored with the Residential Built Environment Award; the City of Philadelphia and Ameresco, awarded the Transportation Infrastructure Award; Sponsors of Mass Save, being recognized with the Consumers Award; Prologis Inc., receiving Commercial Built Environment Award; Entergy Arkansas, being honored with the Utilities Award; Consumers Energy, accepting the Utilities Award; and Willow in partnership with Dallas Fort Worth International Airport receiving the Innovation Award.

“When choosing this year’s winners, we looked for organizations that demonstrated innovation, creativity, leadership, replicability, and degree of difficulty in overcoming challenges,” said Alliance President Paula Glover. “Our awardees are exemplars of leading with Energy Efficiency First and the Alliance’s key priorities of energy equity, reliability, affordability, and emission reductions.”

Along with the Stars of Energy Efficiency award recipients, the Alliance to Save Energy is also recognizing Thomas Kuhn, CEO of Edison Electric Institute,  and the Honorable Willie Phillips, Acting Chairman of FERC for the Chairman’s Award, Phil Croskey, CEO of MD Energy Advisors, who will receive the Rising Star Award, and Karen Francis, who will receive the Guiding Star Award.

“Energy Efficiency is the most effective and lowest cost tool for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. We are thrilled to have so many gifted innovators recognized by these awards,” said Clint Vince, Board Chair of the Alliance to Save Energy, and Chair, Dentons U.S. Energy Practice, and Co-Chair of Dentons Global Energy Sector.

"This year's Stars of Energy Efficiency award winners were of exceptionally high caliber and represent the unbound potential of energy efficiency to deliver positive change to customers and communities," said Adam Cooper, Managing Director, Customer Solutions, Edison Electric Institute and co-chair of the Awards Steering Committee.  "I applaud their impressive achievements and encourage their respective sectors to follow their lead."

Awardees will be honored at the 31st Annual Evening with the Stars of Energy Efficiency Awards Gala (better known as the Energy Prom) at the International Spy Museum in Washington, DC on Tuesday, September 19th from 6-10 p.m.
